He participated in the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) in 2007 and Pan African Mathematics Olympiad in 2008 with Honourable mention, he emerged 1st in Nigeria at the Nigerian Olympiad in 2008. Pius has been actively involved in the Olympiads at the international stage for over ten years as a two-time deputy team leader at IMO, two-time deputy team leader at PAMO and a coordinator at PAMO.
